Virginia M. "Ginny" Hafer
Virginia M. “Ginny” Hafer, 92, of Greenfield, died at 10:55 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Hearth and Care of Greenfield. She was born on June 3, 1924 in Palmer, NE, the daughter of the late Rosco and Blanche Galley Hodge. Her husband William “Saul” Hafer preceded her in death on December 28, 1977.
Surviving is her five children; Robert Hafer of Oklahoma City, OK, Mary M. Hafer of Greenfield, John T. Hafer of Leesburg, Tyson E. Wright of Frankfort and Tytus E. (Shawna) Wright of Greenfield, her step daughter; Sally Hathaway of Reynoldsburg, several grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son; David L. Hafer; her step daughter; Suzanna Vansickle; her step son; Gerald Hafer and several brothers and sisters.
She was a graduate of Palmer High School in Palmer, NE. Ginny was inducted in the WAVES during WWII and received her registered nurse degree through the program. She worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Albert Borreson in Greenfield and the Greenfield Area Medical Center. She was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ.
A graveside service will be on at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016 in the Greenfield Cemetery with Danny Dodds officiating. Friends may visit with Ginny’s family on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNEAL HOME in Greenfield.
